These six "Weight Crunching" Steps are exactly how our family loses weight when we need to and keep it off in between.

Life changes. You get injured and are less active. School or work ramps up, and you're stressed and eating more food. The holidays hit us every year with assortments of high calorie yummy stuff.

About once a year, Dr. Dave and I have to get "back to basics" with our eating habits because we start to make splurging into a habit.

So we go back to these

6 steps.

1-Cut out the soft drinks and go back to drinking more water.

2-Increase the walking and other exercise just a bit (4-5 miles a day for me).

3-Make sure we're eating a high fiber cereal for breakfast. I love Kashi brands, and Dr. Dave likes good 'ole raisin bran.

4-Increase the fiber throughout the day by making more vegetables and cutting out some fast food.

5-My nemesis - healthy snacks! I'm always drawn to sweets for snacks, and I have to get back to apples, or cheese and crackers.

6-And last, we're always tweaking our collection of healthy recipes for dinner.

1) Drink Water for Weight Loss. You made a habit of drinking water every day.

2) Lose Weight Walking. Not only does everyone need to have walking in their exercise regime, but you learned how to enjoy exercise and make it a habit.
