HAVE dessert daily and still lose weight? Yes.

If you really want to keep your weight off permanently, you have to be able to live with your eating choices day in and out. I don't want to stop eating desserts, do you?

How can I HAVE Dessert and Still Lose Weight?

We eat dessert every day because we also exercise and eat healthy meals. It's a great way to live.

  • Keep eating good carbs with your meals. Beans or vegetables. This is vital because they fill you up, then you won't need to eat lots of dessert to feel satisfied.
  • Exercise on most days.

When you work those two steps into your life, you can enjoy your favorite sweets.

Which Desserts Can I HAVE Daily?

I eat any kind of dessert, but I'm finding out which ones are BETTER.

Healthy Fruit Desserts are the best choice. Pumpkin Dessert Recipes are a close second.

"Healthy" can mean different things to different people. It used to mean low fat; lately it means low carb.

In my own experience, I'm finding that avoiding a lot of flour works best. So does that mean you have to completely cut out flour? Absolutely not.

My Favorite Healthy Fruit Desserts

With our tracking forms, I have found out what makes my weight go up and what doesn't. Here are the results:

Berry Smoothies

In a food processor or good blender puree:

  • frozen berries
  • 1-2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2% milk

Using 2% milk is the way that my kids liked these smoothies just as well as ones made with ice cream.

Fruit Crisp

Alter an Apple Crisp recipe as follows:

  • Use raspberries, black raspberries, and/or blueberries instead of apples.
  • Substitute whole wheat flour in the crumble topping. Even your kids won't be able to tell the difference.


Pumpkin Pie

You don't have to alter a pumpkin pie recipe at all.

In fact, you can top it with real whipped cream, too.
