About Us, the founders and creators of this website:
I'm Wendy. My husband is Dr. Dave, a family physician. We live in the United States with our 3 kids. We've been married for over 20 years.
I have a college degree in finance with a minor in speech communications. I put my career on hold to become a stay-at-home mom. Once the kids were all in school, I wanted to work part-time at home and continue to raise our family.
My first website was a failure, but my second, WeightCruncher.com, is flourishing. Follow the whole story at Web Success.
Through the research tools at SBI (the hosting company for this website), I found out which of my interests had good "demand" on the internet - and came up with WeightCruncher.com.
I constantly keep my ears and eyes open for healthy lifestyle information. I constantly tweak our food and exercise to make our routines better. But I'm not perfect, and I don't want to be. I want to live healthy enough that I can enjoy dessert!
My goal for my kids is to be active enough and eat healthy enough and know enough information that when they are adults, they won't have to diet. But when they do need to lose a few pounds (maybe the college "freshman 15"), they have the knowledge to do it easily and safely. And they can always look at this website! lol (laugh out loud)
Dr. Dave is a great doctor and great husband and great father (in my "unbiased" opinion). When we first met, he was an outstanding student (ok, REALLY outstanding in that department) and a campus leader. He excelled in academics with a little interest in athletics.
I liked to exercise. (My school sports were cheerleading and track & field). I also grew up walking on our country roads with my parents.
Dave & I started walking together and kept it up all through our marriage. He put a wrench in it lately, though - he decided to start running! He's grown to LOVE running and has finished three marathons. He lost about 30 pounds with his running, too.
We both like a common sense (and medically safe) approach to weight loss and fitness. We hope this website brings inspiration to you.
